Cape Town

Cape Town is a great place to visit. The city has many attractions, including Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, the Company’s Garden, the Castle of Good Hope and Cape Point. You can also spend time exploring the diversity of animals that live in Cape Town’s Table Mountain National Park. If you want adventure, you can go white-water rafting on the Buffalo River or hiking through an area called Table Mountain Backpacker Trail. Travel inland to South Africa's picturesque winelands and visit the quaint villages of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, where you can sample some of the country's finest award-winning wine estate wines and enjoy a culinary feast in their stunning restaurants.

Johannesburg

Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa, is located in Gauteng Province. It’s famous for its gold and diamond mines, as well as for being one of the world’s leading financial centers.

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) has more than 2,500 listed companies and is ranked second globally among all exchanges. The JSE was established in 1887 by a group of individuals who saw potential in Johannesburg's mineral wealth; it remains one of the world's largest bourse exchanges today.

With so many corporate headquarters located here—including Standard Bank Group Limited (a bank), FirstRand Limited (a bank), Nedbank Group Limited (another bank), Telkom SA Ltd., Financial Services Board (a regulatory body) and several mining companies—it’s no surprise that Johannesburg boasts some impressive statistics:

Wildlife

South Africa is a country known for its rich wildlife and abundant natural resources. From the great white sharks in the coastal waters to the thousands of elephants roaming its savannas, South Africa is home to a diverse range of animals that have become iconic figures throughout human history.

You can see them all here!

Adventure

Cape Town is a great place for adventure sports, with the Table Mountain Cableway being the most popular. The cable car runs from the city centre to the top of Table Mountain, where you can walk around and soak in views of False Bay, Robben Island and Cape Point Nature Reserve. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also take a hike on nearby Lion's Head or Signal Hill and enjoy panoramic views from these peaks.

The Cape Peninsula is another favorite among outdoor enthusiasts. It features stunning beaches like Boulders Beach that are frequented by seals, penguins and whales during specific seasons. For those who want to get closer to nature in their travels around South Africa's western coast, there are numerous hiking trails throughout Cape Point Nature Reserve and Cape Point National Park—including one trail that leads through dense forest straight down toward the ocean!

How to get there

Getting there:

Getting to South Africa is easy. You'll just need a passport and a plane ticket, and if you haven't yet booked your flight, we'd suggest doing so right away (particularly during the summer months). We can assist in booking your flights, contact us info@whynotafricatours.com

What to see:

There's no shortage of things to do in South Africa—aside from hitting the beach or relaxing on safari, you could visit Cape Town for its beaches and whale watching (in season), Johannesburg for its historical sites like Soweto Township or Robben Island Prison in Cape Town, Durban for its beaches and cultural diversity, Johannesburg for its historical sites like Soweto Township, or the Kalahari, allow your soul to be fed by the magic of the Kalahari Desert in South Africa's isolated northwestern region. The red desert sand dunes and bright sunsets of the #Khomani San Bushmen's homeland will stay with you forever. The list goes on! South Africa is one of those places where you can go on an adventure every day of your life if that's what draws your attention. But even more than seeing new sights, we recommend immersing yourself in the culture by learning about their history and appreciating what makes them unique as a people. In particular, we recommend visiting Nelson Mandela's prison cell on Robben Island where he spent almost three decades locked up before becoming president; there really isn't anything else like it anywhere else in the world!

South Africa has a ton of exciting places to see

South Africa has a lot of natural wonders and exciting places to see. You can go on safaris, see penguins in the wild, or even visit one of Africa's best game reserves like the Kruger National Park or Addo Elephant Park to name but a few.

There is plenty to do in South Africa with its many different landscapes and habitats. It's also home to some amazing wildlife including cheetahs and lions!

When to Visit

Throughout the majority of South Africa, the wet season runs from December to March. During this time, the bush is lush and green and many migratory birds are present, taking advantage of the abundant food. The Kalahari desert may encounter rain, which will cause the flowers to blossom. With its Mediterranean climate and winter rainfall, Cape Town stands out as an outlier. The rest of South Africa is drying out while the Cape is still chilly and rainy in July. Wildlife viewing is enjoyable, especially in the months of July, August, and September. The green grasses are becoming brown, the water holes are drying up, and the animals are beginning to gather around the few remaining water sources. In October, things start to heat up in anticipation of the impending wet summer.

Conclusion

As you can see, South Africa is an excellent travel destination! You'll be able to easily arrange your trip using our suggestions.

Below are some of our top travel destination

-------------Tours in South Africa:---------------

Kruger National Park

Both the range of habitats and sceneries, as well as the variety of mammals, birds, and other species, are unmatched. Depending on your travel preferences and price range, there are numerous ways to enjoy Kruger. Being able to stay in reasonable accommodations in the middle of the park, becoming in sync with the animal rhythms, and honing your spotting skills will make a self-drive adventure in Kruger unique. As an alternative or in conjunction, take advantage of a guided tour (with lodging or camping), book a luxurious lodge in the Kruger National Park itself or one of the nearby private game reserves, or sign up for an exhilarating hiking or wilderness trek. Kruger National Park is one of our favorite and most suggested wildlife reserve in South Africa.

Cape Town

Fitting snugly among Table Mountain's folds One of the most stunning cities in the world is Cape Town, sometimes referred to as the Mother City. Enjoy the breathtaking views and distinctive floral kingdom of Table Mountain, stroll through the tranquil Kirstenbosch botanical gardens, go to the disturbingly tragic Robben Island, learn about its disturbing past, see the penguin colony at Boulder's Beach, take in the dramatic scenery of Cape Point, visit the coffee and art galleries in Kalk Bay, and surf the break at Muizenburg. Back in the city, the Waterfront offers a variety of dining and shopping options. You may also be enchanted by the colorful homes in Bo Kaap, learn about the history of apartheid in District Six, and buy at Greenmarket square for amazing African crafts and souvenirs. A journey further inland will take you to the beautiful wine regions of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek, which are a must-see while in Cape Town, especially if you appreciate food and wine.

The Garden Route

No trip to the Western Cape is complete without spending at least a few days in the picturesque Garden Route region. The Garden Route, which includes the scenic length of coastline between Mossel Bay and Nature's Valley, is well named for its rich flora and the enormous Tsitsikamma Forest. The coastal road passes via the villages of Mossel Bay, George, Wilderness, Sedgefield, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, and Nature's Valley, each of which has its own unique charm and attractions. The Garden Route is great for a self-drive trip and is easily accessible from Cape Town by the N2 via the farming regions of the Overberg, or through Route 62 through the Breede River Valley villages of Robertson and Ashton and then onto Oudtshoorn. We have a range of self-drive and guided trips departing from Cape Town, with some also stopping at the Addo Elephant National Park further up the coast heading towards Port Elizabeth.

Kalahari Desert

Allow the charm of South Africa's distant north-western Kalahari Desert to nourish your soul. The crimson desert sand dunes and golden sunsets of this extraordinary location will stay with you forever. It is the homeland of the Khomani San Bushmen. Spend time with the #Khomani San, discover their fascinating culture, and go in quest of the black-maned lions, fantastic cheetahs, stunning leopards, and astonishing gemsbok in the Kgalagadi. A self-drive excursion is definitely worthwhile, and there are several options available, including fenced and unfenced campsites, luxurious wilderness camps that are yet reasonably priced, and the wonderful community-owned Xaus Lodge. West of Upington, at the Augrabies Falls, the powerful Orange River cascades for more than 50 meters, creating an unforgettable sight and sound.

The Blyde River Canyon and Panorama Route

When traveling independently between Johannesburg and Kruger National Park, the Panorama Route is the ideal rest stop. This region, which is an extension of the Drakensberg Mountains and is located 400 kilometers east of Johannesburg, offers breath-taking views, tumbling waterfalls, sheer rock walls, and memories of the gold rush era, making for an incredible visit. One of the largest canyons in the world, the Blyde River Canyon is overshadowed by the Three Rondavels, and Johannesburg's arid, flat highveld stands in dramatic contrast to its lush, subtropical vegetation. Numerous activities, including scenic lifts that descend to the valley bottom, zip-lining, quad-biking, mountain biking, boat cruises, and animal conservation centers, are available to enjoy. These are all fantastic ways to pass a few days while visiting the area.

Addo Elephant National Park

Discover...Experience... Explore a world of variety in a single park. Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa's third largest national park, has grown to protect a diverse spectrum of wildlife, terrain, fauna, and flora. The South African wildlife reserve is well-known among tourists for its big elephant herds that graze on the vegetation and march calmly.  You may see these magnificent creatures by just visiting one of the waterholes that are popular with wildlife. The game reserve is also well-known for seeing the Big 5. Because of its proximity to the coast, visitors can visit Algoa Bay to observe Southern Right Whales and White Sharks. For the discerning guest, the area offers a variety of Safari Game Lodges. Early in the morning, visitors might see lions wandering the terrain. Black rhinos are also seen in the area, but because they are shy, they prefer to stay in the thickets. Addo Elephant National Park is home to a variety of intriguing antelope species, including red hartebeest, eland, and kudu. There is always plenty of game viewing in the game reserve. During the dry summer months, however, there is a concentration of animals at the waterholes.
